Biography
Was born in Jamaica, on December 13th
1926. In conjunction with Wint and McKenley, was a Jamaica’s athletic star in
1950’s.
His best Olympic incursion was in Helsinki 1952
where he won 400 (45.9, Olympic Record) and 4x400 meter relay (3:03.9, world
record).
In CAC Games is the record man medal winner, with
10 medals (4-4-2) in three Games.
In 1953 he earned the Doctor of Medicine degree
from New York University, specializing in Podiatry and Sports Medicine. |

Datos biográficos
Nació en Jamaica, el 13 de diciembre de 1926.
Junto a Wint y McKenley, fue una estrella del Atletismo de Jamaica en la década
de los 50.
Su gran actuación olímpica ocurrió en Helsinki
1952 cuando se alzó con dos títulos: 400 (récord olímpico de 45.9) y 4x400
metros (récord mundial de 3:03.9).
En Juegos CAC es el máximo ganador de medallas,
con 10 medallas (4-4-2) en tres juegos.
En 1953 se graduó de Doctor en Medicina en la Universidad de New
York. Se especializó en Podiatría
