ColinaImperial becomes Bahamas 2005 Title Partner

On Monday, June 6th the Organizing Committee of Bahamas 2005, the XX Central America and Caribbean Senior Athletics Championships welcomed ColinaImperial Insurance Ltd. as the Title Partner for the regions’ sporting, cultural, and entertainment event of 2005. ColinaImperial, a member of the Colina Financial Group, is the Bahamas’ newest and largest insurance company.

As a Title Partner, the name of the championships is now ColinaImperial CAC Championships.

Senior Vice President and General manager, Keith Major commented: We are extremely proud to be associated with such a grand event. According to Major, the event will be a showcase for both Bahamian athletes and the country. “We cannot price the value sports has meant to tourism over the years. Everyone gets excited about it! This is a crucial moment for us to receive high energy and high focus and we are determined to do so.”

Major also commented that by taking the lead in partnering with the Senior CAC Championships, hopefully others in the community will come on board.

Dr. Bernard Nottage, Chairman of the Bahamas2005 Organizing Committee thanked ColinaImperial for their partnership. He commented “We are looking for a minimum of 10,000 people every night. We want to make it a family affair so that people can come out and enjoy themselves and experience good quality competition. There is going to be an exciting cultural show about the culture of the various countries throughout the region. We have never had the opportunity to show corporate Bahamas exactly what can happen when you sponsor an event of this kind, and now we have that opportunity. We are thankful to ColinaImperial, and I believe that in a month’s time when they will see what this will actually become, they will be more than happy to do it in the future.”

The Championships will be held July 8th –11th, over the Bahamas’ Independence weekend. This version of the Championships will be the largest and best. Over five hundred athletes and officials from the entire thirty- five member countries have already committed to attend the 20th Championships. This will be the largest number of participants as well as the first time that all thirty-five countries of the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Confederation will participate.

Tickets for the Championships will be available at ColinaImperial offices in Nassau, Grand Bahama, and Abaco.
